The public is in for a big treat next Saturday when the 130-pound clash between the Pacman and El Terrible starts. Both fighters are all-time greats and heroes in their own right, but who will prevail this time around?
Manny Pacquiao has the speed, power, stamina, and lefthandness to make him the safer bet in any fight. Erik Morales has proven his mettle against the greatest featherweight fighters to have existed in the past 15 years. Morales is the old veteran in this one. Old and battle-worn as he may be, he is still deceptively strong and fast, and his skills have yet to erode. The Pacman on the other hand is on a constant high of wins in his past several fights. The biggest clue I've gotten so far for the outcome of this fight is from the interviews. Pacquiao is excited, calm, confident, and assuring. He talks about the fight with enthusiasm and interesting plans for the future. Morales seems old and tired. He speaks of tough workouts, challenges making weight and the uncertain future in boxing after Pacquiao. Lets not forget that Pacquiao has knocked him out the last time they met. Judging from their attitudes and outlook towards each other, I would have to say that Pacquiao is here to stay and Morales is looking to make one last great stand. My heart goes out to the both of them. I am picking Pacquiao by knockout this time. I would say in the 9th. Pacquiao's un-withering power, stamina, and pressure will discourage and tire Morales to a retirement in the later rounds and boxing.
