Erik Morales is making one last stand tonight against a solid fighter in David Diaz. I'm betting on Diaz easily. While he's older than Morales by only a year, he's nowhere near as beat-up and battle-worn. Diaz is also a bigger fighter by far and has a solid stature. At this point in time, Morales will not have the firepower, stamina, or speed to wage a war with someone like Diaz. Diaz may not be a great boxer but he can fight and his record of 31-1 shows it. Another obvious sign that Morales' boxing career is over is that he can no longer make weight. Everyone must understand that his body is physically too old to compete. He's been in too many fights and is moving up because he can't make a lower weight. There's a difference between a young fighter growing into a new body or moving up to challenge for heavier title belts. Morales metabolism is not allowing him to reach a lower faster fighting weight and we will be seeing an old man in this fight! I wouldn't be surprised if Diaz knocks him out, Morales just doesn't have it PHYSICALLY or MENTALLY anymore!
