The REAL Winner the Night of Pacquiao VS Marquez 2

I'm tired of hearing arguments between who won and who deserved the win. For those of you who don't want to accept the judges' scorecards, I'd like to offer my own boxing opinions to help you come to a more decisive decision about who the winner of the fight was.

What the judges are looking for: Effective aggression.

It's that simple. You can't have one without the other. You need to have a good balance of both. Some fighters like Floyd Mayweather Jr. are very effective with minimal aggression. Others like Ricardo Mayorga can win on aggression alone. Some super-talented folks like Mike Tyson, Kostya Tszyu, Roberto Duran, Roy Rones Jr. have an abundance of both.

Other methods of judging a fight: Which fighter imposed their will? Who landed the more telling punches? It's not always who was hurt more, but who was more uncomfortable?

What the average audience is looking for? Which fighter was closer to being knocked out. Who landed more punches and the bigger punches. Which fighter got cheered more.

My take?

Pacquiao deserved the nod this time. I felt he was closed to getting hurt real bad but on the same token he also did a ton of damage against Marquez. Marquez just happens to be one tough nut who refuses to show pain in a fight but he's getting hurt. The proof is that Marquez would poke at his face or pick at his shorts. You can see Marquez shuffle his feet a little every time he gets caught with a good one. Pacquiao on the other hand does the same thing except only he bangs his fist together.

Pacquiao was MAX aggression, Good effectiveness.

Marquez was GOOD effectiveness, LOW aggression.

Based on that alone, Pacquiao wins easily. The Pacman pushed the fight, brought the fight to Marquez. Made him uncomfortable and hit him with many shots that he didn't see. Marquez got hit by numerous left hands and even a few hard rights. When Pacquiao landed he landed in combinations.

Marquez on the other hand, was fighting like an amateur. He backpeddled and hit Pacquiao mostly one punch at a time. At times, he was devastatingly effective with left hooks and right hands.

You can say what you want but ultimately, Pacquiao was far more effective than Marquez was aggressive. Based on the 2 factors of judging a fight, Pacquiao won the fight. The telltale sign was that Marquez got knocked down and was dazed at several points during the fight.

In the end, I think Pacquiao did a sloppy job training and gets away once again with relatively limited boxing skill. Pacquiao is a beast and it's good that he deserves this win since one judge scored the 1st round improperly the first time around costing Pacquiao the 1st fight.
