Today's topic is about who is the better Klitschko brother. Is it Vitali, the older, more resilient chinned, robot? Or Wladimir, the more fluid and technically skilled boxer?
I think it has been stated in the past that Vitali acknowledged that his younger brother Wladimir was the better boxer but I still disagree. Unless Wladimir beats up Vitali in the ring on a regular basis, I'd still have to pick Vitali as the superior fighter.
Wladimir has the better jab and more consistent jab. His footwork and head movement carries more rhythm than Vitali's. Wladimir is also better at following jabs with left hooks and throwing a right hand without getting countered.
In any sparring session or highlight video, it'd be easy to pick Wladimir over his older brother Vitali but not for me.
Vitali is clearly a more natural fighter. Being a fighter has nothing to do with rhythm. Vitali has more balls, has never been knocked out, and dominates quite easily with his awkward boxing style. More importantly, Vitali knows how to break the rules of boxing to use them to his advantage. Wladimir on the other hand, makes silly mistakes and gets knocked out because he ran out of gas or didn't protect his chin.
It should also be important to note that Vitali has beaten most of the fighters that have beatened Wladimir.
What makes Vitali such a better pick than his brother? Well, he just knows what he's doing. Wladimir obviously follows a boxing script but his brother can win without using any pattern over and over. Vitali is more adaptable to the fight overall. In terms of heart, I would have to say that both fighters are the same. Wladimir might have been knocked out but he never quit. He fought Samuel Peter even though he was scared.
