Here it is, my fight analysis and fight pick for the Kelly Pavlik VS Jermain Taylor rematch. Should be an exciting fight, don't miss out!
I'll keep this short for now since I'm out of time. We already know both fighters have the capacity to knock each other out. Increased Weight - The fact that Taylor demanded the increased weight and not Pavlik means the weight difference helps Taylor more. +1 Taylor Size - I always thought Taylor was the bigger fighter but maybe not. - EVEN Punching Power - I think Taylor's still the harder puncher when he jabs and hooks and sits down on his punches. Otherwise, Pavlik is the more consistent and devastating puncher when his arms fully extend. - +1 Pavlik Speed - Taylor only SEEMS to be faster because he's always jumping around like it's a street fight. The fact that he throws wild hooking punches takes away from the speed advantage. - EVEN Emmanuel Steward left Taylor - Taylor should go back to his comfort zone. He is obviously a creature of habit and only his original trainer knows him best. His old trainer might be able to offset any psychological stress caused from his first knockout loss. +1 Taylor Defense - Pavlik however has very trained reflexes and operates better under fire. He also knows how to circle around Taylor while keeping his guard up. Taylor hasn't figured out how to move sideways instead of in and out which doesn't work against the long-armed and well-timed Kelly Pavlik. +1 Pavlik Pavlik almost got knocked out last time - Irrelevant. Both fighters hit very hard. The difference however is that Pavlik is trained to get hit and goes into all his fights with a brawling attitude. Taylor, gets a bit slowed and stunned when someone hits him with a good shot. - EVEN Boxing Skills - Taylor is more fluid when he moves so he appears to be the superior boxer. Watch the replays of their 1st fight and you'll see Pavlik walking around the ring which his arms held up at preset angles ready to block whatever Taylor throws BEFORE Taylor even throws the punch. +1 Pavlik Counter-Punching - Pavlik actually counter-punches! Taylor doesn't punch back until his opponent stops. +1 Pavlik. Knockout Ratio - Taylor hasn't knocked out anybody for 3 years! The reason why is because he waits too much, doesn't throw counter-punches (which are the most damaging), and almost never sits down on his punches. Pavlik on the other hand wore down and knocked out Taylor with consecutive right hands. +1 Pavlik My Pick? Pavlik wins again by knockout. Taylor just doesn't have the ability to change bad habits and the fact that he's fighting a puncher won't help it either. Keys To Winning: Taylor: Circle Pavlik for once and use the jab more. Throw short left hook leads and hard right hands to the body to open things up. Jab or duck when you retreat. Oh yea, get the hell away from the ropes. Pavlik: Chase Taylor when he retreats and throw 5-hit combos. Keep the right hand high when you're in range of Taylor's left hook. Taylor doesn't see the right hands, so keep leading with them. Try some left uppercuts when Taylor blocks your hooks.
