An awesome way to gauge your potential absolute strength!

Everyone has a strength level to which they cannot get any stronger. Using this simple calculator will allow you to predict your absolute strength limit to see how much stronger you can possibly get.

We will be comparing your concentric strength and eccentric strength during the phases of the benchpress.

Concentric Strength: is the positive phase of the exercise where you are exerting force to LIFT the weight. During this phase your muscle shortens and bunches up as it tightens to put out a high intensity effort needed to lift the weight.

Eccentric Strength: is the negative phase of the exercise where you are relaxing your muscle or LOWERING a weight. During this phase your muscle lengths as you lower the bar to your chest.

To calculate your potential strength increase. Simply divide the maximum weight of your eccentric strength and divide it by the maximum weight of your eccentric strength. In lamest terms, divide the heaviest weight that you can lift negatively under control by the heaviest weight that you can lift positively. The resulting number is to be used as a COMPARATIVE number of your current and potential strength.

Do some benchpressing and do some math. And have fun!

The numbers you get should be an indicator of your possible percentage of strength increase.
